I hope everyone is having a great afternoon and staying safe from the current pandemic. I'm writing just to give everyone a quick update since obviously the blog is not off to a very strong start.
I've been working with lawyers from the US as well as Germany to ensure I'm doing everything completely legal and not writing something that will give my ex more leverage than she currently has. Unfortunately this is very time consuming process, mostly on the German side as they seem to operate on a schedule with absolutely no sense of urgency.
One of the things I've learned since starting this blog is that being on the right side of the law does not mean that I have an advantage. I will give much more detail on this later but the quick overview is this; My ex had cut me off completely from my step children and made it almost impossible for me to contact my biological children. Obviously something that is completely illegal. The problem is that the process is so time consuming and really won't result in any negative action against her, that I was basically forced to cave to her demands in order to regain contact with my kids. As a result, I speak to my kids every day again and am not blocked from the step kids. The oldest step child has somehow chosen to remain disconnected from me while the next oldest contacts me but seems very distant. The relationship with both of them has been severely damaged but I still have confidence that I'll be able to recover those relationships in the very near future.
I'll try to update this information very soon but the full story will be posted in sequence as I finally get caught up with the actual timeline. So, when it finally gets here, the date that you'll be looking for related to this subject will be posts between 1Jan2020 and 15Apr2020. This will start with a wonderful trip with the Kids to Disney World and take you through the process of her cutting me off all they way to through the process of me reestablishing contact.
I'm waiting on one significant piece of information from my lawyer before I can continue regular blog entries.
